Dorota Grześkiewicz
dorota@grzeskiewicz.eu

Dorota Grześkiewicz began her artistic education in a family-run studio, where she learned the foundational skills of drawing, painting, and ceramics. She graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, with an annex in ceramics. She has been an active member of the artistic community, holding board positions in both the Association of Ceramic Artists Keramos and the Sculpture Section of Polish Artists Union in Warsaw.

Her primary medium is ceramics, which she has worked with since 2009, initially collaborating within her family’s studio and later establishing her own creative practice. Since 2010, she has been actively developing her individual artistic expression.

Dorota has participated in over 50 group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. She has also taken part in numerous ceramics and sculpture symposia, and her works are featured in collections such as the National Museum in Gdańsk and the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko. She has been awarded a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture.

Her artistic focus revolves around ceramics, creating sculptures and bas-reliefs that she composes into ceramic paintings. She explores abstraction, particularly how space is shaped by form or its absence, drawing inspiration from nature and her surroundings. Her deep connection to color and form is rooted in her early experiences in her family studio, where the vibrant use of color strongly influenced her artistic identity. In her art, she delves into the relationship between the body and space, employing ceramics to communicate the fluidity of identity and the interaction between physical forms and their environment. Her works reflect a deep exploration of personal and collective consciousness,  inquiring  the aspects of identity.
